For me, becoming isn’t about arriving somewhere or achieving a certain aim. I see it instead as forward motion, a means of evolving, a way to reach continuously toward a better self. The journey doesn’t end. I became a mother, but I still have a lot to learn from and give to my children. I became a wife, but I continue to adapt to and be humbled by what it means to truly love and make al life with another person. I have become, by certain measures, a person of power, and yet there are moments still when I feel insecure or unheard.
It’s all a process, step along a path. Becoming requires equal parts patience and rigor. Becoming is never giving up on the idea that there’s more growing to be done. “

Crafting My Way Into Motherhood
You know, it’s funny. I started this blog on April 30th. That’s when I officially picked the name and registered it with WordPress. And then, in typical mom life fashion, I haven’t had a chance to get much on it. I spent a day making a logo and have many blog posts started in Google Drive, but it hasn’t been until, Mother’s Day ironically, that I’m getting a chance to finish my first post….and then that led into the next day…and the next…
My site may not have the look I want yet, and the sidebar isn’t set up yet, but I decided to just get things going and get some content up!
I wanted to start a mom blog because I wanted to share my experiences and stories. I don’t have a significantly unique motherhood story or an obstacle to overcome, but when you’re pregnant and when you’re figuring out the whole motherhood thing, it helps to have others’ experiences to learn from or confirm your rapidly changing feelings. The more the better!
I called this blog “Creating Mama” for two reasons. One, because I’m constantly creating myself as “Mama.” I wasn’t sure if I wanted to be a mom for a really long time. There was even a good portion of my life when I was pretty adamant that I didn’t want to have kids. But life has a way of making decisions for you and I couldn’t be happier.
Creating Mama is also a play on my crafting passion. I love to make things! My craft of choice is cross stitch but I also love to take something that I want and try to find a way to do it myself. I may not be good at coming up with unique things but I am great at Pinteresting. I’m not artistic, I’m crafty!
On this blog, you can expect to find stories of my motherhood journey from pregnancy to postpartum to raising a kid. I’ll also post about crafting, saving money, Pinterest finds, and more! I hope to share stories that you can relate to or maybe make you laugh. I also hope to share a project, tip, or craft that will help you out in your parenthood journey.
I hope your stick around for the journey!
